Just in case you haven't already heard, Congress has enacted legislation providing a tax credit of up to $8,000 for first time home buyers.

The important thing to remember is that this is a limited time offer.

This tax credit is available only for homes purchased between January 1, 2009 and November 30, 2009.

The tax credit is equal to 10% of the home's purchase price up to a maximum of $8,000 and is available to first time home buyers only.

This 2009 tax credit does not have to be repaid.
